Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m new?

If you are new to our church, WELCOME! Beyond is about moving God’s mission forward through our church. We see this as a mission opportunity, not an obligation. We would love to help you get to know our church and learn more about that vision and how you and your family can go Beyond with us. We encourage you to visit our Guest Services room to learn more about who we are, what we do, and how to get connected. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and let us know about where you are in your journey. We hope that you will be a part of our church family during this exciting time!

How does this relate to our new mission and vision?

The Beyond initiative is not going to replace our church’s mission and vision, but rather will help us move together to accomplish it. Our vision is still to see communities where people are encouraged and equipped to lead Jesus-centered, missionally engaged, and relationally healthy lives. Our mission as a church is to guide people into a growing relationship with Jesus developed through love, service, and community. We believe Beyond will put action steps to our mission and vision as each of us are challenged to pursue God, reach the lost, and impact generations.

How does the one-fund approach change my giving to the general, missions, benevolence, and building funds?

During this two-year period, every contribution to God’s work through FAC is a contribution to our Beyond initiative. Every aspect of the ministry vision God is calling us toward will be funded through Beyond. There will not be separate funds. Every gift made will go into the same Beyond fund. Therefore, every weekend becomes an opportunity to celebrate and contribute to what God is doing in and through Fellowship Alliance Chapel.

Why is it important for me to give?

Giving is an essential part of the Christian life. Jesus spoke more about money than He did about heaven and hell combined. In Matthew 6:21 He tells us, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Giving is a critical spiritual step, like all other spiritual disciplines. We draw closer to God when we give, and faithful followers of Christ will be joyful and generous givers.

How much is enough?

Everyone’s situation is unique, but we are all called to give. Your challenge, no matter what you currently give, is to take a step forward. Your commitment is a response of worship. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 the Apostle Paul challenges us, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

What if I can’t afford to give right now?

Even in times of scarcity, God wants our hearts. The widow who gave her last mite did not make a very big financial contribution, but Jesus said she gave the greatest gift of all. Beyond is about all of us coming together, giving generously, and trusting God to do the rest. It may mean that God is asking you to trust Him by making a faith commitment that you do not know how to fulfill right now. God supplies our every need in Christ, and we trust that He will honor a heart that wants to give generously in response to the Gospel.

If you need help to get out of debt, save wisely, and give generously; consider signing up for Financial Peace University. The spring session starts on April 7, 2020. [Register here].
