Why We Serve

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” -Matthew 20:28

To serve is to give of yourself for another’s good. Serving turns love into action. Jesus Himself considered serving part of His life mission and joy. He didn’t view serving as merely performing good deeds or sacrifice for its own sake. Rather, Jesus emphasized serving in light of His mission—that is, bringing people into a true relationship with Himself.

Ways to Serve in Children's & Special Needs Ministries

Children and individuals with special needs are often neglected in today’s world, but the reality is that they need guidance, love, and the truth of the Gospel as much as anyone. The staff overseeing children’s and special needs ministries seek to pour these values into all our programs at FAC. Needs abound in our Treehouse wing, and volunteering a day or two a month in our children’s ministry makes more of a difference than you realize. Or dive into our SNOW ministry and be a friend and helper to those with special needs. You can even make serving a family endeavor. Families who serve together have told our leaders that serving in children’s ministry has changed their family’s lives in a powerful and lasting way. Whatever you decide, know that by serving you’re making a difference and impacting the next generation and those around you for Christ. And that’s what we’re all about here at FAC.

Ways to Serve in the Cafe

The cafe team would love to have your help serving the people of our church. We are having a lot of fun and it gives us great joy seeing people sit, talk, sip, and really enjoy their time together in a godly atmosphere.

We have simple needs that you could help with, such as: talking to the people that walk up, handing out muffins, or rinsing the espresso machine utensils (which is a constant before and after the services). If you want to learn to be a great Barista you could! But, there are many easier, fun, ‘step right up’ tasks.

We will provide on-the-job-training. If you love serving people, the cafe ministry is a fantastic opportunity for you.

So fill out the form below or just stop in at the cafe, and we will plug you in to serve one or two weekends per month.
