Share 2017

This November, we invite you to join with us as we SHARE God’s love with those in need around us. You will have opportunities to share locally, regionally, and globally as God uses you to make a Kingdom-sized impact in His name.

For the first three weekends in November, we’ll have outreach opportunities represented in our Atrium ― some will be familiar; others may be new to you. The goal of these ministries is to bridge your willingness to share with some great ministries that are making a difference.

We’d love for you to participate individually, as a family, or with your small group and help us as we SHARE God’s love this fall.

      FAC CARE CENTER

The Care Center is contacted by many local families all year long but especially during the holiday season by families seeking gifts for their children. Please consider donating a gift card in the amount of $10, $25, $50, or $100 to Walmart, Target, Shop Rite, Acme, etc., during the FAC SHARE 2017. Donations may be made at the Care Center table.

For further information, contact Anne Simms, 609-975-9741, or carecenter@myfac.org.

      FAC FOOD PANTRY

The mission of the Food Pantry is to support, help, encourage, and pray for those in need who come to our Care Center by giving them bags of groceries. The atmosphere is friendly and compassionate. We lovingly serve out-of-work dads, single moms, those just going through rough times in life, or any family or individual in need of food.

Would you help to bless those the Lord sends to us by providing an item or two every now and then? Items that we pack are peanut butter, jelly, pasta, sauce, tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, beans, stuffing, rice, potatoes, and just about any item a household would need. We invite you to be a part of this ministry.

Please check out our booth in the Atrium for more details or contact Darlene Taylor, 609-209-5572, or darlenest49@comcast.net.

      GIFT OF HOPE

A Gift of Hope is a special Christmas ministry for our Fresh Hope single moms and their children. Fresh Hope moms will fill out gift requests for their children; those gift requests will then be put on gift tags and placed on the Christmas tree in the Atrium. Members of the congregation will have the opportunity to choose a tag from the tree and purchase that gift for one of the children. The Fresh Hope team has also begun including a surprise gift request for the moms, and these tags will also be available.

If you would like to participate in this ministry:

      – Gift tags will be available for pick up in the Atrium during the SHARE weekends.

      – All gifts must be returned, wrapped, to FAC by November 25/26.

If you have questions, contact Debbie Schneck, 609-953-7333, x125, or debbie@myfac.org.

      URBAN PROMISE

The mission of Urban Promise is to equip the children and young adults of Camden with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and Christian leadership. Because of you, we serve over 700 children and youth in the city of Camden. During SHARE weeks, we have two ways for you and your family to help us bring promise for the holiday season:

      1. Food Collection: Take a flyer with a list for a bag full of groceries for a holiday meal. Fill a bag as a family or join with others and return it to church the following week at the Urban Promise table.

      2. Christmas Gifts: Donate a gift to the Urban Promise Christmas Promise Store. New, unwrapped gifts for middle school youth are the most needed. Gifts can include sport team items, costume jewelry, bath and body lotions, cologne, hair accessories, movie passes, artist sketch pads, journals, T-shirts with positive sayings, fun pillowcases/sheets, room decoration art, etc.

Visit the Urban Promise table to learn more. There is something for everyone’s gifts, talents, and timeframe! For more information, contact Jennifer Giordano, 856-382-1864, or jgiordano@urbanpromiseusa.org.

      SUNDAY BREAKFAST RESCUE MISSION

Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission offers help for the practical and spiritual needs of hungry, homeless, and hurting individuals in the Philadelphia area in order to create real-life changes that lead to restoration and rehabilitation.

This holiday season, we have several specific needs, including food donations and winter clothing. We also need volunteers willing to help sort the food and clothing we will be receiving. For more details, visit the Sunday Breakfast table; call Melissa Shaffer, 215-922-1500, x1007; or send an e-mail to volunteer@sundaybreakfast.org.

      NEW COVENANT MINISTRIES

This year, we are partnering with New Covenant Ministries, a Camden street ministry, to support a very special Christmas event in the heart of this very needy city. On Saturday, December 16, we will host an event for families from FAC and other local churches to stuff 800+ stockings, wrap 1,000+ parent gifts, and prepare hats/gloves for distribution the following Saturday.

On Saturday, December 23, the day of the big event, there are many opportunities to assist with setup and cleanup, work at the food court or gift stations, and escort children and their families through the line to get their gifts. Stop by the New Covenant Ministries booth in the Atrium to get more details about this opportunity. For further information contact Karen Dinkler, karen.dinkler@conduent.com.

      ANGEL TREE

Through the outreach of Angel Tree, a ministry of Prison Fellowship to the children of those incarcerated, we have an opportunity to communicate God’s love in a tangible way. Angel Tree is not only a way to give gifts through the Church, but a way to also act as representatives of the children’s parents who made the request. This year, requests were made for 300 children in all parts of South Jersey.

Please stop by the Angel Tree booth for more details or contact Dave and Judi Shoemaker, 609-504-2745.

      Fellowship Alliance South Africa (FASA)

FASA’s new partnership with “Sedibeng Special School” in Lephalale, South Africa, has approximately 160 students with special needs, and that number is growing quickly. We are so thankful for this opportunity to address the spiritual needs, as well as some of the physical needs, of the students. This Christmas season, we are partnering with FASA to gift a Blessing Bag ($25) filled with some supplies and provisions for each student.

To avoid the high shipping costs as well as to support local South African businesses, we kindly request you to sponsor a “Blessing Bag” for these students. Blessing Bag tags will be available for you to pick up with the names of students on them at the Atrium. For more information on the school or to be part of the team that delivers the care packages in South Africa, contact Jim Walter at info@myfasa.org.
