Coach Jim Horner presented “Place Others Above Self!”, during which he talked about how doing so requires above all love, and then humility. As coach pointed out, self-love and caring only about one’s own needs is sinful and is not the example Jesus gave us to follow with His life, death, and resurrection. Jesus taught us lessons from the very cross He hung on about humility, forgiveness, and compassion. The God of all became sin for those He came to save, forgave those who nailed him to the cross, pardoned a sinner hung next to Him, and looked after the well being of His mother by providing for her through the Apostle John. We are called on to allow those lessons to saturate our minds so that we can truly show love the way our Savior does.
